Agreement

These terms are an agreement between the merchant who installs Giveaway Box ("you") and operix, which operates the app ("we"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy is part of these terms.

What the app does

Giveaway Box records entries for a giveaway you set up: paid orders earn entries by the rule you choose, refunds and cancellations take entries back, logged-in customers can take one free entry per giveaway, and you can add entries by hand. When the giveaway ends, the app draws a winner at random, weighted by entries, and keeps a record that lets the same draw be repeated. The app never contacts customers and never changes orders.

Your giveaway

The giveaway is yours. You are responsible for its official rules, for offering a free way to enter where the law requires one, for eligibility, for any registration or bonding a prize requires, for contacting the winner, and for delivering the prize. The app's free-entry option and its draw are tools to help you; whether they are enough for the laws that apply to you is your decision.

Billing

Plans are billed by Shopify on your Shopify invoice. An order counts toward your plan only when it earns entries: paid, not a test order, and placed after you installed the app; an order counts once however many entries it earns. Free and hand-added entries never count. There are no overage charges and no fees on your sales. Going over the monthly limit never stops entries for a giveaway that is running. If a store on the Free plan goes over in two months in a row, it cannot start a new giveaway in the second month once it reaches the limit, until it upgrades or the next month starts. You can change or cancel your plan from the app at any time; uninstalling the app cancels the subscription.

Data processing

To record entries the app processes order IDs and numbers, and customer IDs of logged-in customers. For that data you are the controller and we act as your processor: we process it only to provide the app to you and only as described in our Privacy Policy.

• We use the data only to keep the entries ledger, run draws, and show you the entries. We do not sell it, share it for advertising, or use it to train models.
• Sub-processors: Shopify (the platform, where orders come from) and Railway (hosting and database). We will update the Privacy Policy before adding another.
• Security: the app is served only over HTTPS, requests from Shopify are verified by signature, and data is stored with our hosting provider's encryption at rest. Access is limited to the operator.
• Deletion: when you uninstall, Shopify sends a shop/redact request 48 hours later and we delete everything we hold for your shop. When a customer asks to be deleted, Shopify sends a customers/redact request and we delete that customer's entries. You can ask for deletion sooner by email.
• Incidents: if we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you by email within 72 hours of confirming it, with what happened and what data was involved.
• Your part: you are responsible for having a lawful basis to run the giveaway for your customers, for the official rules you publish, and for telling customers in your own privacy notice that you use Giveaway Box.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the last change; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app.
